Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American Sportcaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is journalists on TV Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in securing her first position as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. In 2009, the CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg hired her following this to become reporters for sports. She also worked as a journalist with KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. Reporters covered issues related to the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs across both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was a substitute for weather and sports anchors. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. Reporting on events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseasons as well as the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she acted as anchor. She became a sports host for the morning show on Despierta America Deportes. She also served in that role for the magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents are born in Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd, 1985 on the 22nd of November in Mexico City. There is an older sister. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992 after they left Mexico. In 1992, her parents separated and shortly afterward in 1995 she married Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. In June of 2006, she went to spend one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. At the time of her senior year at high school, but knowing exactly what she wanted to do for her life, Antonietta attended the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her needs. She discovered that she was a fan of the campus and that the school offered the degree she was looking for. After graduation, she enrolled at the University to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU, of which she's a member. They had a very close connection. The passion he had for journalism as well as her self-confidence prompted her. She, in turn was determined to achieve his standards and not fall short of his expectations.
